It's the end of November 2009 and unfortunately the end of the progress. No there is no major building problems just a financial problem and a "small" holiday season called Christmas We have reached the stage where we now need a major cash injection. For starters we need an instrument panel.
Quite a few year ago we managed to secure a sponsor for the instrument panel, actually only the flight instruments. At the time we were unable to make use of the sponsorship deal due to numerous problems, which I will not bore you with the details. We had hope the deal could be placed on ice however over time that company is now no longer in the same format. I now believe that the delay was actually a blessing in disguise. Let me explain! At the time of the sponsorship all the instruments were analogue and would have required some modification before I could use them properly. The QNH settings for example require fine finger functions to turn that small knurled knob and I didn't and still don't have that fine finger movement. Even during my PPL renewal I experienced difficulties and I was extremely lucky that the QNH did not change by more than a millibar so adjustments were minimal. However on my global trip I am guaranteed that there will be vast changes in the pressure and then I would be in trouble. Another finger hurdle was the AH and then the radios, transponder, audio panel and so the list went on. Now all those functions are simplified with the new flat panel EFIS systems and digital technology. Either touch screen or push buttons, no or very few knobs that require to be turned. It has also reached the time to start looking at the interior regarding uphoistery, and then there is the issue of the little fan and power plant that makes this aircraft fly. I now need HELP!!! If you know of anyone who can help or you yourself are in a position to assist please contact me - This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it |
